General

What is Masjidun?
Masjidun is a cloud-based all-in-one management software, built specifically for mosque associations and Islamic organisations in Germany. The platform combines member management, bookkeeping, donation receipts, event management, lesson and course planning (Madrasa), TV display for announcements as well as prayer time integration (Mawaqit & Diyanet) in a modern, user-friendly application.
Is Masjidun only for finances?
No! Masjidun is a complete all-in-one solution. Beyond member management and bookkeeping, Masjidun also offers event management, lesson planning for Madrasa and courses, TV displays for announcements in the mosque, and prayer time integration (Mawaqit & Diyanet).
Who is Masjidun for?
Masjidun is for all mosque associations, Islamic cultural associations and Muslim communities in Germany — regardless of size. From small communities with 50 members to larger associations with several hundred members.
Do I need technical skills?
No, Masjidun is intentionally kept simple. The interface is designed intuitively so that even users without technical experience can get started right away. If you have questions, simply send us an email — we usually reply within 24 hours.
Can I try Masjidun for my mosque for free?
Yes, you can try Masjidun for free for 14 days. During this period you have access to every feature — member management, accounting, donation receipts, Madrasa and more — but with limited quotas (for example on the number of team members). No credit card required, no automatic renewal. After the 14 days end, access is locked if you don't move to a paid plan — but your data is preserved and immediately available again as soon as you activate.
How much does Masjidun cost for mosque associations?
Masjidun offers monthly pricing scaled to the size of your community — from small associations with fewer than 100 members up to larger associations with several hundred members. Getting started is free for 14 days and without obligation; concrete pricing is provided on request via our contact page, tailored to your association.

Security & data protection

How is data protection and storage location handled?
All member data is stored on servers in Germany (Hetzner, Nuremberg) and transmitted SSL-encrypted. You retain full control over deletion, correction and information rights for your members at any time. A data processing agreement (DPA) is provided on request — useful for any registered association that processes member data.
Where is my association's data stored?
Member and financial data of your mosque association is stored on servers in Germany (Hetzner, Nuremberg). For transactional emails (Resend) and optional AI features (Anthropic), a limited data transfer to the US takes place — secured by EU Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 GDPR. Details are in our privacy policy. Transmission is SSL-encrypted, backups are created encrypted every day.
How secure is payment data?
Very secure. We use Stripe for payment processing — one of the world's leading payment providers, with PCI-DSS Level 1 certification (the highest security standard). Bank details are never stored on our servers.

Features

Can I import existing member data?
Yes, you can easily transfer your existing data via Excel or CSV import. Our system automatically detects columns and maps them to the correct fields.
Can members register themselves?
Yes! With our QR-code system, members can register themselves. Just print the QR code or share the link — members fill in their data and you only need to confirm.
How do I create tax-office-compliant donation receipts for my mosque association?
With Masjidun you create donation receipts at the click of a button — the system automatically uses the current BMF template and pulls all required fields from your donation records. Both single and aggregated receipts are available, each as a PDF for email or print.
How do I generate reports and the income-surplus statement for the tax advisor?
Masjidun creates the income-surplus statement (EÜR), annual reports and detailed transaction breakdowns at the click of a button in Excel format — exactly the way your tax advisor or the tax office expects. The cash report for the annual association audit is also one click away. This can save boards several hours of manual Excel work.
Can I use Masjidun without internet?
Masjidun is a cloud-based application and needs an internet connection for most features. The mobile app for iOS and Android, however, offers limited offline access to important data such as member lists and prayer times — changes sync as soon as the connection is back. The TV display in the mosque keeps running through short connection interruptions after the initial load.
How do I get Mawaqit prayer times into Masjidun?
You pick your mosque from a list in Masjidun — that's it. Prayer times will then appear automatically on your TV screen in the mosque, on your website and in the mobile app. The data comes directly from Mawaqit, which is used by over 1,000 mosques across Europe. If your mosque isn't listed on Mawaqit yet, you can choose Diyanet instead — especially useful for Turkish communities.
Can I record Zakat, Sadaqa and Ramadan donations separately?
Yes. Using customizable accounting categories, you can record Zakat, Sadaqa, Fitra, Iftar donations, building donations and any other types of donations separately, evaluate them and label them accordingly on donation receipts. There is intentionally no dedicated Zakat module — the category-based approach is more flexible and adapts to your association's practice.

Events, lessons & communication

Can I plan events and dates?
Yes! With the integrated event management, you can create events, manage them and inform your members about upcoming events.
Does Masjidun have a feature for Quran lessons and Madrasa?
Yes! With lesson and course planning, you can create courses, manage students and teachers, organise classes and plan the entire teaching operation. With one click, you can even start a new school year.
Can I show announcements on screens in the mosque?
Yes! With the TV display feature, you can show information, announcements and important notes on screens in your mosque. You can also embed external URLs, for example for prayer times.
Does Masjidun support prayer times?
Yes! Masjidun supports prayer times from Mawaqit (Europe) and Diyanet (Turkey). You can choose a provider and display prayer times directly on screens in the mosque.
Which prayer-time sources are supported?
Masjidun shows prayer times from Mawaqit and Diyanet — the two most widely used sources for mosques in Europe and Turkey. You simply pick the one that fits your mosque.

Switching & comparison

We're using Excel/lists right now — how do we switch to Masjidun?
You export your member list as an Excel or CSV file and upload it to Masjidun. Our import assistant automatically detects the columns and maps them to the right fields (name, address, contributions, date of birth, etc.). Four mosques have already moved from Excel to Masjidun this way — if you have questions during the import, our support helps directly.
How does Masjidun differ from WISO MeinVerein, easyVerein or ClubDesk?
These tools are general association management solutions — Masjidun is built specifically for mosques. Concretely, Masjidun includes features that general association software lacks: prayer time display (Mawaqit & Diyanet), TV display for the mosque, a module for Quran lessons with Hifz tracking, and accounting categories for Zakat, Sadaqa and Ramadan donations. If you don't need mosque-specific features, the standard association tools are just as suitable.
Do I need a registered association (e.V.) to use Masjidun?
No. Masjidun works for registered associations as well as for non-registered initiatives or communities without a formal legal form. However: donation receipts (according to §10b German Income Tax Act) may only be issued by registered non-profit associations with a valid tax exemption certificate — that is a legal requirement, not a Masjidun limitation. For association founding and non-profit status we recommend consulting a lawyer or notary.

Getting started

How do I get started with Masjidun?
You briefly get in touch with us via the contact page — afterwards we set up your access to a 14-day demo version together, with which you can try every feature. This way the setup fits your association and you start right away with the right data.
How long does setup take?
Basic setup only takes a few minutes. If you want to import existing data, it depends on the data volume — but even that is usually done in under an hour.
Is there training or a manual?
The software is designed intuitively and is largely self-explanatory. If you have questions, you can reach us by email any time — we usually reply within 24 hours.
